About Cadillac
Cadillac: An American Standard
Started more than 100 years ago in Detroit, Cadillac is currently the second oldest American automobile manufacturer and is among the oldest automotive brands in the world today. The company has been in the forefront of advanced vehicle design, and is responsible for some of the technology that's still being used in modern vehicles today. They've developed the world's first electric self-starting engine, pioneered computer technology in automobiles, introduced the legendary V8, and more. It's safe to say that without Cadillac, the American automotive industry wouldn't be the same today.
Precision manufacturing
Cadillac's biggest selling point is their vehicle's reliability, and they've proved this with their first vehicle lineup by showing precise manufacturing ability during an interchangeability test in the United Kingdom back in 1908. They were then awarded the Dewar Trophy for the most important advancement of the year in the automobile industry during that event. Modern Cadillac vehicles still continue to carry this dedication to reliability, making them one of the most trusted brands auto brands today.
The Cadillac electric self starter
Nowadays, you simply can't imagine that you needed to manually crank a vehicle engine back then. You can thank Cadillac for that, because without their electric self starter, then you might still be hand cranking your engine. This invention also led to various innovations under Cadillac including electrical systems, interior and exterior lighting, and more. Because of this, the company won its second Dewar Trophy, and a hundred years later, that technology is very much appreciated today.
The first American V8 engine
You know you've got power under your car's hood when you've got a modern V8 engine, and its modern incarnation owes it all to Cadillac's V8, the 1914 L-Head. It was a hand-built engine that used cast iron cylinders and an aluminum crankcase, a far cry compared to today's lighter and more powerful versions. Still, you can't ignore the fact that Cadillac was first, and their research and innovation paid off in creating the modern V8.
Standard of the World
After more than a hundred years, Cadillac is still going strong and has retained its original vision of being a "Standard of the World" today. You simply can't go wrong with an American-made vehicle, especially when you go for a Cadillac.
